About us...


I am Lisa Parks and my husband is Shawn, we live in Newport, NC.  I have been turning pens for about 10 years now and I have been in love with the idea of it for many years.  My husband has been doing woodwork for, well forever.  When he  would drag me into the wood working supply stores I would see the sample handcrafted pens that others have turned and apparently thinking out loud, would comment how beautiful they are and that I would like to do that.  Well after about 3 years of me saying this, he took me in and and got me all the tools and materials I needed to get started. When I started turning on the lathe, my husband said he'd never seen me smile so big.  I enjoy turning pens and have recently started turning ice cream scoops, pizza cutters, and salt & pepper grinders.  I use acrylics and a variety of wood blanks, my husband also makes some of the laminated wood blanks that I use for each unique handcrafted pen. They make excellent gifts; birthday, Christmas, anniversary, wedding, graduation, promotion, going away, or any other special occasion or not so special occasion.

We are also building a campground in Newport, Dogwood Family Campground. We will have 52 RV lots available in phase 1, a dog walk area, playground, walking trails and picnic pavilion.
